The “War for the Planet of the Apes” Interview

If they handed out an Oscar for the best motion-capture performances, Andy Serkis would probably have quite a few trophies on his mantelpiece. The accomplished actor/director has provided the movements and voice for such memorable, CGI characters as Gollum in The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings trilogy, King Kong in King Kong, Supreme Leader Snoke in the Star Wars sequel trilogy and Caesar in The Planet of the Apes trilogy. Healthy Living: The Cellphone Guide

Much like the political realm, there will always be debates and disagreements when it comes to the technological realm—especially when it comes to your health versus the almighty cellphone. Now, it is a fact that communication in the 21st century literally brought about a revolution. Mobile devices are being used and will remain at the top of “must have” lists for all ages for the rest of time. By giving the world immediate access to help, navigation systems for their cars, the ‘best’ lists when it comes to everything from where to dine out to where to shop for the latest dog dish, the cellphone has become all powerful. Heck, there is literally an app for just about everything you can think of on this planet now. Add in the music and entertainment industries and the cellphone hits on all cylinders. However, even though we are in a world where we all know the cellphone will never go the way of the dinosaurs, there is still a great many arguments when it comes to how and when the cellphone should be used.

In Home Décor ‘Olde’ Has Become New Again

When it comes to making the house ‘pretty’ again – not to mention, adding to the resale value of the home ten-fold – it is the antique world that has become the new in-thing. Yes, everything from new landscaping to painting to energy saving technology are all good things to bring to the old homestead in order to make it a better investment for you and the family. But what about those small things that are now being used – and no longer being looked over by prospective buyers – to create a whole different type of décor? Any antique maven or “Flea Market Flip” lover will tell you that if “the bones are good” you can restore anything. Which is true. But because the bones are good and millions are restoring things to a brand new shine, there are certain companies making money by selling old/antique décor that makes all these restoration projects far more pleasing to the eye.

Tips on Staying Safe While Having Fun in the Sun

Those rays are upon us! Sitting by the pool, enjoying those lazy days at the beach with the kids, jumping into that swimming hole to get cool from the summer heat. All of these case scenarios are a whole lot of fun and everyone wants to do them. After all, that’s what summer is all about – having rest and relaxation before the winter winds and blowing snow come back into the picture. But what many fail to remember are the illnesses that can come from being out in the heat too long, or the accidents that can happen when it comes to swimming or even grilling over the campfire. Most every illness and/or accident can be avoided; all you have to do is take minor precautions, be attentive, and not let the sun become a negative.

Scrapbooking for Beginners!

When it comes to the arts & crafts/hobby world, there is one that has climbed the charts of popularity over the past few years. Scrapbooking calls out to a variety of people who, let’s face it, are truly sick and tired of cellphones clicking away, yet never producing PAPER copies of your grandchild’s photos. I realize that these electronic photos are simpler to use as backgrounds on laptops and backgrounds on the cellphones themselves, but they take away from the grandmother who wants to carry those PAPER copies in her purse to show off to others. But…I digress.
