The Silver King is on Its Way

The Silver King is on Its Way

Summer is here, and for sport fishermen from the Texas Gulf Coast to the Carolinas and everyplace in between that means one thing: Tarpon are on the way.

The Silver King is the only inshore game fish that can truly be compared to marlin, sailfish, and other bluewater big game species; it’s blistering runs, and gill-rattling jumps are unlike any other species out there.

One of my favorite methods for taking tarpon is on spinning or conventional tackle when drifting with live baits including pinfish, live crabs, mullet and scaled sardines. But such serious live baiting requires a serious fishing platform. And that’s where the 2400 Bay Max by Tidewater comes in as a guide’s favorite.

The boats standard 77 gallons of fuel capacity mean that with the boat runs nicely with a 200 or load it up with a 300 four-stroke Yamaha, anglers run long-range when mining Silver. Anglers enjoy a range that’s unparalleled in similar-sized bay boats.

The boat comes standard with 35-gallon, LED-lighted aerated live-well that offers plenty of room for whatever your favorite bait. Anglers will also appreciate the flush mount stainless steel hardware, cleats, rod holders and drink holders that make for a snag-free, comfortable fishing experience.

Just like every other boat in the Tidewater lineup, the 2400 Bay Max features all-composite, no-wood construction with fiberglass stringers and a hand-laid fiberglass hull. Each boat is rigged to AYBC standards and backed by a 10-year transferable hull warranty.

The 2400 Bay Max is available in seven colors: white, carbon (gray), sky blue, bimini blue, fusion blue, island green and black. The list of optional features is only limited by your imagination, including a wide range of T-Top and leaning post options.
